EDF-Lao - EDF Group

EDF-Lao is a member of the EDF Group, in collaboration with and supported by the EDF-Japan and the Education for Development Foundation (EDF). EDF Group's mission is to help promote basic education in Lao PDR and other developing countries. Its aim is to empower children in developing countries to have a better life and to become qualified human resources in order to overcome poverty in communities.

The EDF-Japan is a charitable organization working toward development goals by raising funds from Japanese philanthropists to support educational projects in Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia. The Darunee Scholarship Fund supports children to complete compulsory or basic education in the rural, remote areas of such countries

The EDF has granted direct scholarships for underprivileged children and carried out development projects in northeast Thailand since 1987. The EDF also funds and provides technical support for EDF-Lao in implementing development programs.
